We are an organization that takes pride in what we do, how we do it, and who we serve. We are dedicated to providing care to a high percentage of governmental and uninsured patients and strongly believe in helping the underserved.
Our system is community focused. To us, community is not limited to geographic and political boundaries; it includes of patients with a set of common needs. Many health systems move facilities away from older, economically depressed areas. When they do, they leave behind more than empty buildings. They leave behind patients who have difficulty accessing primary care.
We like to move facilities back into empty buildings in those areas. OCH reopened two closed hospitals that were providing care to underserved communities: one in north Springfield and one in Gravette, Arkansas. We’ve opened clinics in empty buildings in the “old town” areas of Rogersville, Mt. Vernon and Webb City. Our clinics in Springfield, Nixa and Bolivar have never established a quota limiting the percentage of Medicaid or uninsured patients accepted into the physician’s practice.
