What to Expect

Every child who receives an appointment to OAAC will meet every member of our Multidisciplinary Diagnostic Team including five medical providers for evaluation. Following the testing, the OAAC Diagnostic Team will meet together specifically about each child to determine diagnosis and develop a treatment plan for each discipline. After this is completed, the team will meet with the families to offer answers that same day. At the end of the OAAC clinic two-day appointment, each child will receive a diagnosis and comprehensive plan for moving forward! The OAAC appointment will be scheduled for two consecutive half days.

Currently, the OAAC is only accepting referrals for children with Medicaid and UHC Military insurance ages 18 months through six years.

Scheduling Your Child

The Ozarks Area Autism Clinic is physically located in Nixa, MO within the OCH Christian County Clinic in the Primary Care entrance. It is the first door on the left when you pull into the parking lot.

All children must receive a referral to the OAAC from a physician.  This referral may be faxed to: 417-725-7373.

Once the OAAC receives the referral, the family will be mailed a registration packet which includes medical history forms, developmental questionnaires and several other forms.  These materials must be filled out and returned to the OAAC before the appointment will be scheduled.  When OAAC receives the completed packet, the family will be contacted to schedule a clinic date and time.

If the family does not keep their scheduled appointment, the child will be put back onto the end of the waiting list.  Please make every effort to keep appointments.
