Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette, AR has an immediate opening for a full-time Patient Access Specialist within our Admitting Department.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Patient Access Supervisor and/or Director, the Patient Access Specialist verifies patient insurance coverage, benefits, and calculates patient financial liability for scheduled services. Will ensure that all authorization requirements are verified, submitting for the authorization when required, and ensuring all approvals are on file prior to services rendered. Will communicate the patient financial liability, as well as any coverage limitations for services prior to the appointment. Specialist will ensure all benefits and Medicare cap tracking are logged onto the appropriate tracker and communicate changes to billing or coverage requirements to the appropriate team members in a timely manner. For recurring services, will monitor the subsequent appointment reviewing for completed, no showed, and cancelled appointments to ensure the patient does not exceed benefits or approved visits. Has the ability to perform duties consistent with Standards of Practice, goals and philosophy of Ozarks Community Hospital and the Employee Code of Conduct.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year’s patient access or medical front office experience preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of prior health insurance authorization experience preferred.
  • Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience preferred.
