Job Summary: Under the direction of the assigned manager or coordinator, receives patient referrals from providers or nursing personnel, ascertains their needs and makes appropriate referral. Documents the referral appropriately in referral log and communicates with provider that referral has been made. Has the ability to perform duties consistent with Standards of Practice, goals and philosophy of Ozarks Community Hospital and the Employee Code of Conduct.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year’s medical office experience preferred.
- Previous experience with health insurance and patient billing preferred.
- MA III/LPN certification/license preferred.
- Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience preferred.
- Obtaining and tracking authorizations preferred.
