340B Pharmacy Program

Ozarks Community Hospital is eligible to participate in the 340B pharmacy program. The 340B Federal Drug Pricing Program is part of the Public Health Service Act that requires pharmaceutical manufacturers to sell covered outpatient drugs to certain, nonprofit health care organizations at a discounted price.

The program allows OCH to contract with retail pharmacies to fill prescriptions for OCH patients from drugs purchased by OCH. The additional revenue OCH receives from that program enables OCH to enhance the services it provides to its patients and makes a discount program for OCH uninsured patients possible.

Things to know about the OCH 340B Pharmacy Program:

• Patients covered by Medicaid are not eligible because the Medicaid program already covers prescriptions at the discounted price.
• Discount cards are available for uninsured OCH patients at all OCH facilities. The cards will be honored only at pharmacies contracted with OCH.
• Not all drugs are eligible for the 340B discount.
• Participation in the OCH 340B pharmacy program will not cost OCH patients more money and may reduce the patient co-insurance amount paid by OCH patients with drug benefit coverage.
